In 1984 Youth & Family Programs created a system that reflected our ideals and beliefs and began a journey that continues today.

We believe:

• In the power of group decisions.
• That all children and families have the right to a safe environment.
• That all people have the right to be treated with respect.
• It is everyone's responsibility to maintain safety.
• Positive outcomes can only come from positive process.
• In doing what is necessary to provide the highest quality care for children, families, and staff.

A definition of philosophy is a "system of motivating concepts or principles."

Our philosophy is simple:
Work hard, do your best, be honest, value each other.

Our philosophy reflects an ideal. How close this organization comes to it's own philosophical ideals, reflects directly on the job the agency is doing. If we are close to our ideal then we are close to providing the children and families with service they deserve. If we lose our way, then the children and families suffer the most. Achievement of ideals is rare, but striving towards those ideals is critical.

As the journey begins, realize the roots of this organization are not in structure but in trust.
